Kennel Black Manter's:in taustalla häärii Päivi Hituri, 35-vuotias koiraharrastaja Sastamalasta. Olen kasvattanut manchesterinterrierejä kennelnimellä Black Manter´s vuodesta 2008. Manchesterinterrierejä minulla on ollut jo vuodesta 2002 saakka.
Vauhdikkaiden manssieni kanssa harrastan tavoitteellisesti agilityä. Lisäksi harrastamme melko aktiivisesti mm. tokoa ja näyttelyitä. Kannustan myös kasvattieni omistajia harrastamaan manssinsa kanssa itselleen sopivalla tavalla. BM tiimistä löytyykin muutamia agilityssä korkeimmassa luokassa kisaavia sekä useita muotovalioita. Kasvattini treenaavat ja kisaavat lisäksi mm. rally-tokossa ja noseworkissä.
Kasvatustyöni on pienimuotoista ja haluan harkita tarkkaan ne yhdistelmät, joita jalostan eteenpäin. Rotta- ja kanikoirana alunperin käytetyltä manssilta tulee löytyä saalisviettiä ja toimintakykyä. Kasvateissani pyrin edellisten lisäksi vaalimaan rohkeutta, iloisuutta, energiaa ja terveyttä.
Jalostusominaisuuksiltaan hyvä manssi omaa myös hyvät harrastusominaisuudet.
Jalostuskoirilta tutkitutan rotuyhdistyksen suosittelemien terveystarkastusten (silmät, polvet & sydän) lisäksi luuston terveyden. Kannustan myös kasvattieni omistajia tutkituttamaan koiriensa terveyttä mahdollisimman monipuolisesti. Vain tutkimalla voimme saada arvokasta tietoa rakkaan rotumme terveydestä.

Behind kennel Black Manter's is me, Päivi Hituri, a 35 yo dog enthusiast from Sastamala, Finland. I got my first Manchester terrier 2002 and I've been a breeder of manchies since 2008.
Manchester terriers love action! Our main sport is agility, where I actively train and compete with my dogs. Additionally, I train my dogs in obedience and we compete in dog shows. I encourage all BM owners to find their own sport or a way to stay active. There are already some Black Manter's dogs competing in agility at the highest national level and I've been lucky to breed several Finnish and International Champions. Some BM dogs also actively train and compete in Rally-Obedience and NoseWork.
My breeding is small-scale and done with careful consideration. I meticulously plan all combinations I use and wish to develop further. As Manchester terrier was originally used for hunting rats and rabbits that should still be found in their capacity and performance. Additionally, all Black Manter's dogs are bred with emphasize on braveness, joyfulness, energy, and good health. A manchie with good breeding properties is a manchie that is suitable for many kinds of activities.
All dogs used for breeding are health-checked for eyes, knees, heart, and bone structure. I encourage all owners of BM puppies to examine their dog's health extensively. Only with enough official health-checks we are able to have important information about the health of our beloved breed.
